Cycling Shorts

I'm thinking of getting a pair of true cycling shorts to wear rather than the gym shorts i adorn when i ride now. I've found a pair that matches the color scheme of my jersey (white field with blue accents on the sides) and I was wondering if the white spandex would be too revealing/see-through. Any info or a record of prior knowledge would be appreciated. If it makes a difference, I don't intend on riding in the rain. Thanks.

white when stretched tight.... or even worse wet
if really high quality white bike shorts are fine, if not in my experience people may know your personal shaving habits.
unless i am riding a long road ride or if speed counts i wear a pair of basketball shorts over my riding ones. off road i wear the cargo short style ones with built in riding ones.
by the way... nice picture and one more reason i like to ride with Freds

Doom on you for posting that pic here! The ass hats over on the Craigs List bike boards have been posting that ad nauseum for over a year now. I thought I'd have been safe from it here. LOL!

Alright, Thanks. I do intend to start on very long rides and where I live is quite windy so the less baggy the clothing, the better.

Great picture by the way haha. I'm going to wear compression-type underwear that breaks up the detail quite a bit beneath my shorts so, fortunately, I won't look like those guys.

If I were you I wouldn't take a risk on wearing white shorts. Bike shorts are revealing enough as it is.

the more I think about it, the less I really care. People will stare regardless, my underwear will be dark, I can't beat the price on these shorts, and they they match my bike and jersey. I'm used to the revealing spandex as i have wrestled for three years now. As long as I don't have guys ogling, I really don't care.

Well, they're ordered, paid for, and on their way so there's no turning back now.
