If I wanted people to laugh at me I'd wear spandex. I carry a satchel. It holds more and no one will ever ask "Hey is that a fanny pack?". No offense to you clearly.

Ummmm, no. The accepted way to carry stuff on a bike is either in a Camelbak, messenger bag, panniers, handlebar basket, rack, or jersey pockets. Fanny packs are totally unacceptable.
I'm not gonna dog you for wearing a fanny pack, but I will say that I was with a guy that was carrying one on a 60 mile ride, and he ditched it before mile 15. Said it was killing his back. Only problem was that it Camelbak fanny pack, and was holding his water. We had to stuff the bladder in his jacket pocket. He hasn't worn it since.
Fanny Pack. Kind of says it all doesn't it. Do you carry nutri grain bars and Band aids? Whatever happened to going around completely unprepared? I miss the good old days.
