Good morning Retmuter, I'm assuming the trimming is where the fender goes through the rear tubers? Maybe the front tubes as well.

Unless you're after a custom look like I always am, you probably won't do any trimming. Fitting is a matter of wheels off, wheels on, repeat a buncha times. I believe the PB fenders have a bracket similar to what's been used by many for years mounting the fender to the rear brake bridge. This is the one always in a different place and most fender manufacturers provide one that you locate on the frame and bend tabs over to hold in place. I recommend doing that last.

It's a Marin Muirwoods older that some of the posters here. Fresh powder coat and a full restoration.
