Get ready to Rumba!

I saw these watches at the OR winter show this year. Check them out - dozens under $20, and colors to match any kit.

New York, NY February 2011
– Close friends Joe Anto, Drew Deters and Jay Hartington co-founded RumbaTime with one mission in mind - to create fun, stylish and affordable watches that can be worn during any occasion. The first style, Original Collection, launched in December 2009 featuring digital timepieces comprised of lightweight, durable silicone. Each RumbaTime watch is encased in its own sleek test tube and offered in an array of vibrant colors including cotton candy, lemon drop and sky high, as well as classic black and white.

RumbaTime is the ultimate accessory for men, women and children with on-the-go lifestyles. The watches are water-resistant, comfortable to wear, and look great alone or stacked together. Add a streak of color while surfing, skating, practicing yoga or gallivanting around town without the concern of damage.

Since launching its first collection, RumbaTime has debuted over 15 collections including VanDam, Lafayette, Essex, Original 2.0 (with backlight feature) and Mercer Collection. Each collection retails between $14 and $175, and has attracted celebrity fans from actors to musicians to chefs and athletes.

Based on their shared enthusiasm for adventure, discovery and living life to its fullest, Drew, Jay and Joe built RumbaTime. “We wanted to inspire people to feel that life can be enjoyed without the constant concern of damaging your fashion goods or gear,” says co-founder Joe Anto. “Life is meant to be enjoyed and our brainchild RumbaTime was designed to be durable, reliable and up for anything! Our timepieces are for anyone who desires to look good when they're doing their thing, whatever that may be."

RumbaTime watches are unisex, lightweight and water resistant, perfect from going to the gym to a night out on the town. Starting at only $14, RumbaTime watches make great gifts and are available in a variety of colors including hunter green, red, hot pink, denim, acid green, glow-in-the-dark, orange, purple, baby pink, lilac, yellow, neon blue, black, light blue, white and grey, there’s one to match every style. Celebrity fans include AnnaLynne McCord, Jesse McCartney, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Adrien Brody, Melissa Joan Hart, La Toya Jackson, Dennis Quaid, Willow Smith, George Lopez, Cody Simpson, Carolina Herrera, Richie Rich, Snoop Dogg, BET’s Terrence J, Giuliana Rancic, chef Spike Mendelsohn and Paramore’s Hayley Williams. RumbaTime watches are available for online purchase at rumbatime.com and shopbop.com and in-stores at Finish Line, PacSun, MetroPark, Lord & Taylor, Sports Authority, and Hallmark in addition to select Waldorf Astoria Hotels and Resorts and other boutiques nationwide. I have a metal allergy, are these all plastic? I'll get a rash around my wrist in the shape and texture of the band, it's gross.

Better than plastic, the ones I looked at were silicone. Not too likely to irritate.

Nope, I have no silicon allergy, yet.

I'll be checking these out once I get in a better place. I've been looking for a plastic watch for years that doesn't have a calculator or Disney Characters on it.
