I asked my boss about going but he just asked "What does this have to do with our industry?" I answered his question with a question......Since when do things that make sense control anything?

At my day job, I had to apply for clearance, and get a badge. From the day I applied, to the day I had my photo taken (3 years after my interview) was a total of four years. Then they realized we don't actually have any badge readers in our office, so I just need to use the token they issued me five years ago (that I've never needed). Your tax dollars at work.

We also won a contract with the DoD, but thanks to some restructuring within our department, I was able to completely wash my hands of that.

Now where are those Interbike photos?

Nope, IT...........the whole world is powered by senselessness so I don't see where that matters much anymore. It is just varying degrees of senselessness no matter which industry you're in.

After all that time it wouldn't matter as the clearance was void anyway.

We had to dump CAC cards for the DBIDS which is biometric based awesomeness for access to Navy bases only, crazy.

This was a step below a CAC, I'm sure. I can't even recall the official name, as we always referred to them as "government employee discount cards", since you could get a discount on rental cars and hotels. Lol.

Didn't I get you a magazine autographed by that dude with giant quads from Interbike one year?

See any cool new tech? Met Helmets is supposed to be releasing the new Roam helmet soon. I believe they are British.
