New, high performance steel to come?

I saw this posted on the big site and was amazed. Aquording to the article this self taught metalugist, Gary Cola discovered a way to make steel that is 7% stronger than any steel on record. His process takes a total of 10 seconds. The steel is stronger and more shock absorbant than most titanium used. The 7% increase in strength means it can be stretched thinner for a weight savings of 30%.

Could steel overtake aluminum as the standard for light weight road bikes?

Thats a big deal with far reaching impact on many industries and applications. Very interesting to see if anything comes of it.

This is HUGE! Will probably change production across a wide array of products, not just bikes.
