I thought Cadel attacked the whole way up Galibier and I'm pretty sure he was in the red. He did pull back nearly two minutes in about the last 10km. I also think that if the stage would have been about 2k longer, Andy would have been caught by Cadel. Yesterday was a big gamble on both Schleck's and the rest of the GC contenders' group parts. Andy won it. Attacking with 60k to go meant 1 of 2 things: he'd end up doing what he eventually did and staying off the front, or he'd hit the wall and be sucked in just like so many other breakaways that went too soon.

Yesterday was an amazing stage that had two things I love about the Tour. Huge attacks that obviously are hurting the riders beyond belief and some great team tactics. It's definitely one of the most memorable stages I've seen in a long time. Let's hope Alpe d'Huez gives us more of the same.

Vive le Tour!!!!

Today, again a great stage!! Contador wanted to pus something right. This was the only way to do it.
Cadel did what he had to do..;
What's next?
Will Andy ride the TT of his life? Will Cadel lose again in the TT ride?

Tomorrow, we'll know who wins the TDF 2011!!

Frankly the ideal time to attack was at the stage of the climb where a pass would have meant hitting someone. Gee you have thousands of people drinking all night then wonder why the riders do not have a clear road. Once the barricades were up, it really was much later than the run to the front needed to happen. It should be embarrassing to the race organizers, and a little bit frightening. It's not out of the realm of possibility that one of those idiots, or drunks (but they are not fans) that can not stay off the road could send a rider and someone else off the side of a mountain. With some of the drop offs today that wouldn't have been pretty.

Congratulations to Voeckler no matter what happens. He raced and gave it his all. I can not say that about everyone. If he can keep yellow to the last day of the mountains, he definitely has it in him to win. It may not happen this year, and it may never happen, but he should never be considered a water bottle runner ever again.

The Eurocar team is doing a lot right and may be a team to watch out for in the future.
