Not only could you not afford her, but I can't imagine you'd want a high-maintenance, blue-eyed, tattooed, foul-mouthed Aussie:

It's easy once it's moving. Of course, I had custom 27" titanium risers bars with grips on the bar-ends.

I am with industry hack-- I think a tandem is pretty easy to ride-- they do not climb as fast

I can easily balance mine at slow speeds... I was on the walkway between the Ferry terminal and Pier 39 in Saturday noon traffic with NO issues at walking speed or slower --- and this was loaded with 4 panniers and a tail pack.

I just saw those pics industry. Do you go shooting every weekend, Twice a day? Man I would move to Utah if it weren't for all the crazy backwards polygamist cults out there. And I'm filthy rich so I could easily afford her, I just don't want to.

We don't really go that often, but it's very convenient. And I don't mind the Mormons. On the plus side, we own the whole state on Sunday, while they're in church. The downside is that the closest Buddhist temple is in SLC, 45 minutes away.

Oh, she'd spend 110% of your money.

It's the same thing in Texas. Sunday morning is when I do all my shopping. The closet actual Buddhist temple is in Leander about 45 minutes away. YOu should give her my number. It's twelve.

Re: Any body ever ride a tandem?

I've owned and ridden a few just sold my Venatna full suspension last week, still have a Santana Picante, that we tour on. Going to try a trike, ordered a Greenspeed GTT5S with Da Vinci drive, hope we enjoy it.

Re: Any body ever ride a tandem?

My brother and I rented a tandem skinny tire MTB Marin in the summer years ago while in San Francisco. We took it across the bridge to Marin County, and took it around the awesome headlands.

There was a certain speed we weren't comfortable going faster than. Going by memory, probably 20 miles per hour or so. If we got going too fast, we felt like we were going to crash. But keeping a reasonably fast pace going downhill, uphill, and flat was remarkably easy.

I imagine that it would have been more stable if it would have been a better bike. but it still convinced me I wouldn't want one, unless maybe I had an out of shape spouse that I wanted to drag along without a lot of waiting.

Maybe it was because of the bike, as I have flown on a tandem going over 45mph. and it was very stable. Granted I really don't like going that fast...but my Captain loves doing that. To me the only thing worse than climbing hills, is going really, really fast down them.

My wife and I rode her bosses tandem a few weeks ago. It's a vintage road bike style with caliper brakes (that were not good for stopping the weight of my wife and I) and downtube shifters which I found somewhat difficult to use with the Mrs on the back. We did have fun though!

I'm working a deal to pick up the tandem pictured below for my wife and I to tool around on...
