Bike Fridays: GREAT bikes!

I used to own a Bike Friday Pocket Rocket. I have to say, one of the best bike I ever owned, fast, easy to transport and just plain fun. If I do ever get a road bike again, it will be a Bike Friday.

They are well designed, and despite the small wheels, are wicked fast. Yes, you fast roadies may be doubtful, the Pocket Rocket just flies!

With the availability of many different wheels sizes, these bikes can be set up to be well under 20 lbs. There is a guy selling one on the Portland, OR craigslist...a beautiful triatholon Bike Friday. I'm just drooling...

And their fit specialists are awesome. They just get it right.

Try one out sometime, you won't be disappointed!

Hey there Lisa!

I'm thinking about getting a Bike Friday for touring. I'm sure the smaller wheels will be helpful going uphill, I'm just not certain how they will perform throughout the entire trek.

I think that they will tend to be slower and require more energy output to cover similar distances with more conventionally sized bikes.

What do you know about Bike Fridays and Touring?
