Make A Folding Bike?

What type of frame would I need to weld to in order to make a foldable bike that won't break if I were to cut the bike and weld hinges into parts of the frame then on the opposite side put locking pin hoops for a pin to hold it closed when in use

A cheap BMX bike with OS steel tubing.

Of course, there's also the "why bother?" question. And make sure your medical insurance premiums are paid up.

I was looking at that and it doesn't seem that dificult you just might have to spot weld some of the joints and probably have some tings machined but if you image it there's some pretty cool bikes.
