1990 Trek 1100

Been riding my vintage trek a lot lately. Just put on some white mountain bike pedals.

Welcome to the forums! I had a Trek 1200 that was about the same vintage. I recall it as being stiff, yet forgiving on longer rides. And I hit 56 MPH on a steep downhill. Good bike, good times.

Welcome to the forums, Quiet! Thanks for the pic of your ride. Looks good! Are you returning to cycling after after a break, or taking it on as a new thing? either way!

Yep, I think it's a comfortable ride-- I have not hit 56! Sounds like a white-knuckler...

Thanks newleaf- I am returning to cycling again after a long break. I recently started mountain biking and that got me back into cycling in general, so then I dusted off the old Trek (which I bought new in '90) and tuned it up and I'm having a blast riding it. I've got a Garmin Edge and that has really increased my enjoyment by measuring / comparing / etc. That and the group of like-minded middle-aged guys that I ride with. Still trying to get my gear updated and get some decent riding clothes for the winter. I'm in Alabama where we don't get snow, but it can still get cold! Thankful to be able to ride outdoors pretty much year-round.

56 on a bicycle will test certain muscles in your lower abdominal region.
