Does anyone know good frame painting shops in the Midwest?
I have an '84 Voyageur touring bike that I did not really want, but decided to restore. The paint is in very bad shape. I do know that I will never recoup the money - but I can build the coolest metallic orange touring bike on the block.
Why not try your hand at painting it yourself? I would suggest getting it bead-blasted professionally, but the rest of the spraying can be done in a basement. I set up plastic dropcloths as a makeshift booth and sprayed a frame myself. While I can't say it's the best finish in the world, it was completely custom and done myself.
