If I recall correctly campy claimed that the hubs were never intended for the types
of stresses that street riding provided. And I'm pretty damned sure they never had
skidding figured into the equation when they designed them.
hopefully the electra hubs will level out the price of the campy hubs, which last pair I
saw were going for about $700 for NOS. Hell they could hardly give them away when
they were current, should have bought a boxcar full of them and retired on the profits.

Actually the C Records had that flared dustcover that required the special "olive pitter" tool. These new hubs don't seem to have that... otherwise a spittin' image.

Those electras are enough to make me finally break down and get off of freewheel hubs.

I actually went and bought a set of these ticino hubs, they are gorgeous:

I built them into some wheels and did a little old school painting on the cutouts:

The wheels are on my 1981 Fuji America:

For more pics and discussion of these hubs, you can view my blog entry on these hubs/wheels here.

I love the hi flanges on the America .. especially with your paint detailing. I've got a set of Sunshine hi flange hubs mounted to Ukai tubular rims coming in, I think I might throw them on my America to see how they look and feel. Nicely done!
