This was posted by someone on another bike forum. I'm planning on making this ride and would like to invite anyone living in Central Florida to ride with us.

All ages and abilities invited. This will be a fun "social" ride. Nice flat trail riding with lots of rural sights to see. The more riders, the more enjoyable the ride.

It will be Sunday, February 17th. We will meet at 11AM at the Red Caboose at the Inverness Trail Head (near downtown Inverness) and ride south, hopefully meeting up with folks who live near the south end of the trail. We could plan a stop in Floral City if the pie shop is open.

If the "Yankees" quit sending us that cold weather, it should be a great Florida day for a ride. The trail is very nice. I've ridden on it a few times and enjoyed the rides each time. It's not too far from where I live so that makes it a nice change of scenery for me.

Be sure to stop for lunch at River Ratz, about a mile off the trail in Nobleton.

I've heard of it from cyclist that have eaten there bit have never been there. Looks like a nice place to eat.

I may do that ride on the 17th. That River Rats place, did it reopen? I remember it and the campground where it's located shut down a few years ago.

We were there last Feb. Don't know about the campground, but the River Ratz' FaceBook page has review entries dated just last week.

Another cool spot for those who remember the 50's and 60's is Sabina's Diner, a block off the Withlacoochie in Hernando.

Ahhh, so it must be open. I think the closure took place in 2011 and I just hadn't checked in a while. I'm going to go check out their FB page.

Also, I like the fact there's a breakfast-all-day place so close to the trail. I may need to frequent it more often.

Nobleton Outpost is the campground I'm thinking of. Wonder if they're closed but the restaurant open? I was looking into it at one time, because I was looking to make a stop there on a tour. If I ever go on a tour, that is.
