I am thinking of trying the 30 this year with an eye on the big one next year with a new ride made for such fun times!

It looks interesting. Let me look into it a little more, I might do it. And, it's fairly close (I took my son to Maumee in September for the Cub Scout Shoot-O-Ree) but, if you've ever been there you know that it is a secluded location.

The reason for the pavement/gravel/trail ride would be the not so good conditions of the roads in the surrounding area. In driving home, we went towards Story and the road literally went from pavement to large gravel, and in a few places a dirt path. I'm surprised I didn't get a pinch flat in my car...

Oops, I thought this was in September of 2013. I'd like to do it but I'll have to wait until next year. I need to pick up another road bike... I don't want to risk hurting the SuperSix on the Gravel Grovel.

No way I would ride a roadie on that ride! I have an old trek 820 I could use but have been looking at 29ers to add to the stable. Prob be a ride I do next year as well.

It is on my list for 2013. My Vaya is well suited for such a ride.
