I was celebrating the completion of my can/bottle holder that I put on that chair. I actually added a can/bottle holder to both of those plastic patio chairs. I went to my LBS and bought two bottle cages that were on clearance, drilled holes and mounted the bottle cages to the arm of the chairs. I needed to test it to make sure it worked.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I might do some scouting up in North Central Indiana today, visiting family and looking for new places to ride.

Well, I need to start working on fundraising for the 2013 Indianapolis Tour de Cure. Follow the link below to help out (http://main.diabetes.org/goto/jkratzer). Donate a $1, or if you can a little more. My goal is $200, but I'd like to hit $1000 by June 8th, 2013 (which is when the ride is). I will be riding 100 miles to help the American Diabetes Association. Thanks for your help!

After the first of the week, I should have some news and I will also start training for spring... I've been working on a few things and have been very busy over the past few weeks.

On a "related" training note, does anyone have any knee issues? I've been having discomfort in my right knee cap (more specifically just to the inside of my right knee cap). Any stretches or exercises that help? Any idea of what this could be... ITBS? (I hope not...) I didn't hurt it riding, at least I don't remember hurting it on a ride. I noticed it last week while planting my knee on the ground, prior to standing up (very sharp pain).

May be your cleat position. I know it sounds odd, but you may try looking to see if your cleats have moved a lil bit.

I'm thinking about changing out the brake calipers on my SuperSix today.

I took advantage of the unseasonably warm weather today and rode into Columbus to complete an errand, and stop by my LBS. I was going to leave earlier and ride a route that I thought up this morning "SMACKING FAT IN THE FACE", but my 2 month old had other ideas. I was also a little concerned because of the pain I've been having in my right knee, but after I got on that wonderful Cannondale machine, the pain slowly melted away.

This ride wasn't anything special, I rode a route that I would normally take to get into town. I hit a favorite "climb" Carr Hill Road, and stretched it a little to get a little more mileage out of the ride. I jumped on the Columbus People Trail and made my way into town. Once in town I headed straight to the Sewing Shop to pick up my son's Cub Scout uniform for the Columbus Christmas Parade this afternoon/evening. I then rode several blocks to my LBS Columbus Bicycle Station, https://www.facebook.com/bicyclestation?ref=ts&fref=ts, where I picked up a steel skewer so I can set the SuperSix up on the trainer.

On the way back, I pretty much took the same route, maximizing all contact with hills. I will tell you guys, I haven't ridden in 14 days and I could really feel the slide backwards in my fitness. I really need to crackdown and get on the trainer at least an hour a day.

I threw out the challenge that I would ride a metric century for every like I get on the Darn Tough Vermont Sock contest thread (If I win the socks). Go over to the thread, help me get a pair of socks, and help me punish myself. I'll post the link below. I hope tomorrow gives us at least a few hours of what we got today.

It's been a little while since my last post. I woke up this morning at 4 and headed over to Farrell's Extreme Body-sculpting for a free session. I think I did pretty good for a beginner, I really needed the 45-60 minutes of cardio. Tomorrow is strength training.

I've been a little on the lethargic side waiting for some important news. Today is supposed to be the day. (Nothing serious, but very life changing) Hopefully I'll have a good follow up post this evening and then get started on some indoor training!

I went to Farrell's Extreme Body Shaping again this morning for the 6 am class. Today was strength training with resistance bands. Another good class and I really felt sore after yesterday.

I didn't get an update on the thing I was talking about yesterday. I've been patiently waiting now for about 6 weeks... I should definitely hear something on Monday or, early next week.

Depending on what I hear, I might sign up for the 10 week course at Farrell's. The cardio and strength training will keep me in good shape until spring. I can't wait for the warmer weather to come back.

Reading up on trainers and carbon frames. I have heard not to use a carbon bike on a trainer, that it could cause damage to the bike. Anyone have any proof of a bike being torn up by a trainer?

I found these helpful threads online...

I've been thinking about rollers too, and a friend has some that he has offered to let me try out. Any preferences?
