Dornwood Park Topeka, KS

Dornwood Park Topeka, KS anyone rode it?

I drove out to it yesterday just to get a feel of where it was. It doesn't appear to be in the best part of town but there is parking by the ball fields and I have a co-worker that lives in the Townhomes near it.

It looks like a fun ride from the maps. I guess there is an old milk barn, lots of drop ins, hills, bridge, ect.

Here's a link to the Friends of Dorwood Park website for more info.

It seems that they are trying to connect Shunga trail through it all the way to Lake Shawnee.

Rode from 29th & Gage to Dornwood and back today. Trying to map it out as my phone died 15 min into the ride even though it said full charge. Did about a 20-25mi ride from what I can tell by satellite.

That big hill on Dornwood kicked my ass! As did the 25th street run from Dornwood to Landon Trail. Soo many hills!

If any of you haven't rode Dornwood give it a whirl! I only rode the outside edge but the place is huge and full of trails and off shooting trails.

Sounds like a good place for a ride! I'll remember it in the event I find Topeka on my itinerary.
