Up a little.

Up a little more.
I'm going over the mountain in front here.

Pics from Our Rides - Trail & Ride Reports
And some more.

Pics from Our Rides - Trail & Ride Reports
Yes, more.

Pics from Our Rides - Trail & Ride Reports
And yet some more up.

Pics from Our Rides - Trail & Ride Reports
Passing a great view.....still climbing.

Pics from Our Rides - Trail & Ride Reports
I just had to stop for these pics, but yes....still climbing.
Pics from Our Rides - Trail & Ride Reports
Same spot but looking behind. Almost level with the clouds. Lol

Pics from Our Rides - Trail & Ride Reports
Continue the climb.

Pics from Our Rides - Trail & Ride Reports
If you zoom in, you can see some of the road I was riding about a mile ago. Still climbing.

Pics from Our Rides - Trail & Ride Reports
What?!?!
Still another mile & I'm still pointed up?!!
(Read the small print)

Pics from Our Rides - Trail & Ride Reports
Another worthy view
ONE DIRECTION and.....

Pics from Our Rides - Trail & Ride Reports
THE OTHER direction.
Still climbing.

Pics from Our Rides - Trail & Ride Reports
Why not some more climbing?!!
I wonder what's around the next turn?

Pics from Our Rides - Trail & Ride Reports
You guessed it. More climbing.
The trees are starting to look different.

Pics from Our Rides - Trail & Ride Reports
Yes. These trees are different at this elevation.

Pics from Our Rides - Trail & Ride Reports
A small section of Snowshoe. This goes on for a mile.

View from the resort.

Pics from Our Rides - Trail & Ride Reports
I'm now at the bottom of the other side. While it doesn't look like much from here, that mountain in front is what I just rode over......and now I'm heading back.

Pics from Our Rides - Trail & Ride Reports
You'll need to zoom again to see the end of the straightest section of road within 50 miles.

Shhh!!
Radio SILENCE.

The company store. The manager grew up playing here, when all three floors where used for the store. Now, only the first floor is used but it still holds an old time charm.

Your history lesson.
Study up. There'll be a test.

A great ride and area to explore.
I highly recommend visiting with your bikes.
Way cool! First thing I thought of - I owe my soul to the company store

Seen along the new road today.
Pics from Our Rides - Trail & Ride Reports

This gas line runs for hundreds of miles and they're still building it. The pipe is large enough that a grown man could easily crawl through it.

I've seen fields of this pipe staked three high that run for nearly a mile.
This part is obviously finished.
The green hillside in the background is path of the line.
I've heard we're shipping our natural gas to the Carolinas.

My new territory to ride! It starts in Lockville, Ohio, about 12 miles from Lancaster, my home town. If you looked on a Google terrain map, you would see this area is the starting point of the Appalachian foothills. Lancaster is the ending of the very mild, flat rollers, and from there, going south comes the great hills, hollows. WhereI came from, Columbus, recently, the area is FLAT! and where I work at, 55 mikes away by bicycle, 46 by car, as you know, is FLAT to rollers.
I grew up in the Lancaster area and as a kid, my parents allowed my brothers and I a very long leash of adventuring! We would venture up to areas near Lockville, by bike, all of Fairfield county was ours for the adventures! I hope to renew those long lost adventures in my rides. I hope you enjoy the rides with me. Nice ones, Iron! Awfully pretty territory out that way. Thank you for sharing your new stomping grounds!

Bicycling the Natural Bridge trail in YNP. Note the blurriness is caused by the fairly heavy snowfall.

It got worse after we turned around.
