Funny thing is, that is on a main approach to a very busy business. I can't believe they haven't had it patched.

Adaland Mansion:
Built in 1870.
The house and land reflect the early history of West Virginia with the original owners engaged in farming. Emancipated slaves from the farm worked on the construction of the house. The surrounding area is rich in civil war history with the first land battle of the war fought in Philippi in June 1861.

Yes!
That's four. Count'em, 1,2,3,4 curve filled miles to the bottom of the Virginia side.
It's just fine, but I DO have to return this way.

I've still got to go between those hills and over the distant East River Mt. again...and that will put me about 17 miles from my lodging tonight.

I use to ride these roads on my motorcycle. Virginia has done an outstanding job in this area by designating the smooth roads as bike routes.

Dos,

I'm definitely going to your neck of the woods and doing some riding. Awesome scenery.

I've been trough his neck of the woods. My legs shake and quiver at the thought of riding those "hills"!

I tackled some of the hills in Northern Illinois and those were killers. I didn't do very well on some of them, but I know what you mean about the legs shaking and quivering at the thought of steep hills; something we don't have here in Florida.

Hot dang we had a really nice afternoon yesterday, in the 50s & sunny. Come on Baby (I've named it Baby) let's go for a ride. The cooking smells brought back memories. Ham in pea soup came up a couple times.
The park was quiet so I rode up to the tower for a pic.
