Please be careful with your eyes. It is possible to do permanent damage with no immediate discomfort or loss of vision. This is not something to mess around with if you hope to view the eclipse directly. Here is a list of reputable vendors compiled by the American Astronomical Society and the National Science Foundation. It's worth reading up. Permanent eye damage or even total blindness happens surprisingly quickly.

Thanks, but I am not planning on looking without the right glasses. Think I might just climb in the RV and take a nap...though will keep an eye out for the weirdos

I'm planning on missing it. Been there, seen that, same as before...........and plenty of views on the news.

Agreement. Would rather fish a little and avoid the freaks!

I wasn't planning on paying any attention. It's partial eclipse here anyway but as I was riding past an Amish house the family was all standing in the yard wearing eclipse glasses and looking up in the sky so I stopped my bike and took a picture. I was underwhelmed.

We almost got the full eclipse from 30,000 feet over East Tennessee.

Deron and I got up at 3 am and drove to Alliance, Nebraska for the TOTAL ECLIPSES OF THE SUN! Carly Simon's, "Your So Vein", was in my head all day....

It was fun. It was exciting. It was, and I mean this to the full and real meaning of the word, AWESOME!

The crickets came out with song as the Sun dimmed.

All the many many folks were in great moods, friendly, and nice. Waiting for the bathrooms was actually fun.....lots of chatter.

Not only that. But the Road Trip with Deron was long over due. We did have our bicycles with us, but there was nowhere safe to really ride. We did however stop in Rapid City on the way home and Mall Walk! Ha3 By the time we got back to Rapid, a Bicycle Ride did NOT sound like a fun thing to do.
