It looks like I'll get a chance to see how riding and exercising affects my cancer. I just came from the oncologist and she says she is not going to start treatment until my condition gets much worse. She says what I have is incurable but slow growing. She says it can be treated but she doesn't want to start that until she has to because the treatment really compromises the immune system. I asked if she had any restrictions or recomdations about food or exercise and she said she didn't. She said exercise is always good. Green tea might help, basically just keep doing what you're doing and I'll monitor you closely to make sure you get the treatment when you need it.

I had skin cancer about 4 yeas ago, on my back. Too much surfing and running around with no shirt as a kid. I have to get check ups each year and they do this freezing spray all over my face and head. So far, nothing has come back but I have to figure out a way to keep out of the sun and ride still. I use sun block on my face but sometimes forget to put it on my arms. I just need to get a jersey or shirt with sleeves.

I am lucky at work because a large group of guys ride regularly. And lots of people (to me) exercise and take care in what they eat. We do have 7k+ people where I work though so there are many many more people who look like engorged ticks then healthy people though.

Most of the studies I have seen and the one's that my oncologist tells me about have all been positive as far as exercising and cancer goes. The great thing about riding vs other kinds of exercises is that most cyclist can ride for several hours at good cardio levels vs other types of exercises where the body can't sustain as much.

I hope that all goes well with your cancer and that you don't give up the riding. I know that I would not be as well off as I am with my cancers had it not been for cycling.
