Wazuka.

Wazuka, the area regarded as the 'tea-growing' capitol of Japan - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wazuka,_Kyoto No matter where you are in Wazuka, an area made-up of many hills and valleys, you are bound to see a tea plantation. And not just in areas obvious to the naked eye, but is some very secluded locations.
My outing yesterday was into some of these very secluded places - at times I cursed myself for bringing my bike - that threw-up some unexpected beauty. Although the extreme heat expected wasn't due until the afternoon (40c at 5pm), it was still warm and very humid, with a shower-or-two thrown in for good measure. The air was so moist visibility through my glasses was next to impossible. Within the first hour off-road, I was already completely soaked to the skin.
Anyway, less chat from me, take a look at the following images -

I cannot find the "Like" button so I cannot like this post, nor the beautiful photos in contains.

However, I can commend the OP .... just gain a bunch more weight and you will achieve your goal of looking scarily like me.

I am green with envy that you get to explore these exotic places on your bike outdoorholic. Oh well, I guess I will have to live vicariously through your photos.

I can also see why you might be cursing if you have to carry your bike up those stairs (image 6).

And you know what annoyed me? When I exited the shrine, and made my way back to the road, I discovered a track that lead directly to the shrine.

It's still hot & muggy here so nothing new planned in the immediate future. Am suppose to go hiking this time next week, with a friend, so may have some images to share then.

It's what I really enjoy about discovering Japan - you never know what is just around the corner.
