This is a mirror bracket I made from a piece of aluminum bar I had laying around. It works really well for the most part except for being able to remove it quickly and easily. I was wondering if other people out there had came up with similar ideas and what they might look like.

I use an eyeglass-mounted mirror myself, but I'm looking to go to a helmet-mounted one so I can transition from sunglasses to ski goggles as the weather gets colder.

I rode with a helmet mirror for about 10 miles once, I pulled it off and never used it again. I rode right off the rode while trying to use it! This setup works great for me...I moved it forward enough to be just a quick glance down and far enough out to see clearly past even a flapping jacket sleeve. I used plastic for the first one, but it vibrated to much so I made this one out of the aluminum. I'm thinking about making one that will slip on and off of where the hood cover attaches to the shifter body.

For the last 4 or 5 years I've used a Take Look Mirror http://www.rei.com/product/752285/bike-peddler-take-a-look-mirror

It's designed to attach to glasses, but it attaches easily to a helmet visor. A short velcro strip ensures it stays in place. I find it bounces around much less than handle bar mounted mirrors, and I don't have to look away from the road as much to use it.

The helmet mirror never worked for me. I just couldn't get used to seeing with it. But it was a cheapie and that may have been part of the issue.

I have the end-cap version for mtb bars, and I like it a lot. It seems pretty delicate though, but it's not glass. It doesn't vibrate even with full pressure tires, though I've had it move some in high winds. I advise to put a star-washer in the stack or a piece of hard rubber.
