Dude, my wife and some o her sisters are 5'3" and think they are tall. We got to the valley and my 9 year gets a kick out how people are almost his height. Her one sis is married to a guy who is 5'2" and all his family is his height and shorter. It's totally different then anywhere else I have ever lived

My dad used to be 5'10". When he had to have his 2nd leg removed, they make his prosthetics shorter for stabilization. He ended up being 5'4". He has since passed away, but his determination to live his life fully has always been an inspiration to me.

yup, i am still shooting for 155 or 160. holding at 170-175 though. i wonder how close i am to the point where i have to watch how much i am powering through stuff instead of spinning through it will affect my weight loss? pretty soon we will all reach a point where the amount of muscle we have is going to affect our lowest limit for weight.

i know on this recumbent bike, its so easy to just mash and mash because you can put your back against the seat and just power up the inclines instead of spinning a higher gear up so that is going to affect weight since the mashing seems like it would build up bulk muscle versus lean muscle

1) Ride 3000 miles. That will be 1000 more than last year.

2) Lose 60 lbs. and keep it off. My weight as of Jan 1st was 282

I plan on posting once a week as to how my progress is going. I won't be using any specific diet plan per se, but I think that I am going to use knee's recommendation and pick up that book. I have used Weight Watchers and it seemed to work fairly well and I am getting better at what to/not to eat.

Good Luck to everyone,

My Goals are.

1.Loose a good amount of weight that im happy with, i'll be happy to get to 13 stone or 182 lbs. i think im around 15 at the moment, will have to update as am a little shy of the scales.

2. to be come regular in sportives , and bike rides, i cycle on me own, but im hoping to encourage one of my friends to get on a bike and come out with me.

3. Is to keep it up through the winter, i have my rollers now and im going to stick at it! Fed up of getting fit in the summer then loosing it when the weather gets bad !

While I was in the bike shop yesterday, a guy walked in to ask about skis, since they are a freeski shop as well. He was a few inches shorter than me (5'10") and in talking about skis mentioned he was 145. I was going to offer to buy him a sandwich.
