Does anyone know any or belong to any local biking organizations? I am in texas currently and I am not very aware of them.

crazystreet...you can try looking at officially sanctioned USCF clubs through their website....or you can look at the Texas Bicycle Racing Association which has a list of associated member clubs/racing teams. I am from Massachusetts and I used USCF to find my current club.
