Blue Book for Bikes

Just curious. There seems to be quite a few questions on the value of bikes lately, and if gas goes up it could create even more.

Is there a book for bikes, like there is for cars that can give you an average value for a used bike???

Wife would probably cringe if I bought more, but at least it isn't more camera gear that cost more.

There isn't one that I'm aware of, other than a site for tandems I recall from a few years ago. Prices vary by region - in Oregon, any old bike with half-decent components commands a much higher premium. In other parts of the country, guys are pulling the same bikes out of dumpsters.

That's a good idea. I would like to have a standard so I know what to offer if I ever buy another bike second hand.
