I had a good ride this morning with the gang. Set out for a 60 mile ride since I need a few extra miles as a cushion for my 1K month. Right about mile 51, we came out of a street that went around a Home Depot and onto the main drag by the west parking lot. Looked ahead of us and all we could see was disappearing cars into a mass downpour less than a quarter mile away. As we approached the parking lot, we started to feel some drops and the rain looked as if it was headed in the same direction we were going. So, we picked up the speed even more to outrun the rain and opted not to do the 2 mile service road extension at the east parking lot where we were parked. Got to parking lot, sun is out, sky is blue and no rain. Thought about going back and doing the extension but I didn't know where the rain was at so I ended the ride at 58 miles. Had a nice chat with Amanda and her dad while getting things put away. It never did rain in that area.

^ I might just have to make a trip out to Colorado just for this.
Thank you, TruE! I hope it can all come together. It'd be fun to hang out with you and maybe a few other Two Spokers!

Yeah, sure, rub it in.............still 95 with 108 heat index here......nothing pleasant about that. It doesn't even get much below 80 for lows.

A nice but steamy morning ride today. It was so humid that I had to stop several times within the first 5 miles to wipe my glasses. I'm still using eye drops to correct an issue I'm having after cataract surgery, so riding without the glasses isn't an option as it would dry my eye. We didn't have much in the way of wind today so that didn't help much during the 42 mile ride. Sure would be nice when winter comes around.
