Your at fort Jackson? Why were apaches buzzing you there? That's my helicopter, that and the chinook are what I work with. I avoid Blackhawks like crazy

I'm not sure why, though I don't think it was specifically for us he was just following the road at about 30ft. We always train on Fort Jackson. With lots of nicely paved country roads with out any civilian traffic it a nice place to ride. I ride to the coaches house in 3 minutes, then it is just a ten minute ride to the fort. Though sometimes we go out on country roads off of the far side of the fort and the only off-fort training we do is go to the old Columbia NASCAR track. As for why the helicopter was there? Perhaps it was for a exercise, there is a air force base only 15 miles from the fort so that's not far at all for a helicopter.

Sounds like a great place to ride!

Although still battling flu, managed to get 16 road miles in this morning...stiff breeze so got a good workout...ah, it's Friday!

Have a good weekend all, get out and ride!

they must be up from fort stewart, there is no aviation unit assigned at fort Stewart
, especially not apaches. the air force doesn't have apaches either, just as a note. fort stewart has an attack helicopter unit and so does fort benning.

Well we did get a ride in yesterday 1-31, just 10 miles as it was turning colder . I would take the snow bike out today as it is snowing good out there, but I never got the chain ring changed. Maybe I can get it changed and take a short ride today. It is 30* out there now and geting colder add to that the wind chill , maybe I will just get the chain ring changed no ride

Another very windy 30 mile ride today. For some reason, I'm pooped after this ride. After my ride, it hit me that yesterday was Nago's first birthday and I totally forgot to get it something. I guess a trip to the LBS is in order for tomorrow but what do you get for a bike that has everything?

I'm thinking of Mackentire actually. I once got a tour of the hangers there. There was Apaches, and a Blackhawk there. That's all that I saw in the hangers they took us in.
