Roger on the .380. I have 9mm and a .40 but since I tested this .380 with the very latest personal defense amo I find myslef with it every where I go. Yes, there are times and places that I do still want to have a .40 close at hand, but now I pick and choose when. Down here where you wear a lot of short & tee shirt type of stuff (normal years) its just plain eaiser to hide and less constrictive when sweating. Its just one of those personal choices. I have chosen to ccw, so I decided that meant everywhere legal. That said, I picked up this LCP with the Crimson Trace to fill in for those situations that trouble would be the least expected, but just in case. I have also tested it at close range on two wild hogs with excellent results with same amo.

When I was younger I hunted moose and deer with a 30.06.
But I don't see the value of a handgun except to kill people. If you need a weapon for protection against wild animals get a carrier similar to what is used on ATVs. Carry a rifle. Make sure you kill what you shoot at. If not , track a wounded animal and finish the job.
I've just read and seen too many heated arguments turn deadly because of a handgun. It now becomes a badge to wear when you can settle an heated disagreement and the winner walks away. What happened to a disagreement where the two antagonist can still walk away. The only reason a handgun gets removed from it's covering is to intimidate with the threat of death. It makes the user like a peacock. They can throw out there chest and say "LOOK WHAT I'M CAPABLE OF!!!". But at that point everyone if a loser.

I've been in plenty of arguments armed and never thought to murder some one. How many of those same arguments ended without gun violence. Don't know? You want to know why? Because " Two Local Men Agree to Disagree" doesn't sell papers. It's boring. I felt board writing it. They don't make statistics for things that end well. There is no interest.

Funny, but I find it offensive that people trophy hunt. Feeding your family is one thing, shooting animals for sport is not something I find acceptable. Not judging you, only stating where I stand on that.
Anyone carrying legally is going to try to avoid confrontations. If they're found to be the one that started an argument, they can end up losing their permit.

And there freedom, it's called Brandishing a weapon and the last case I heard of that didn't end in violence the offender spent three years locked up.
I'm OK with trophy hunting. I feel bringing attention to animals is not always negative regardless of the modality through which it is expressed. No run on chickens are there? If you let me eat a Panda I swear it would save them all.

I'm not even referring to brandishing. If you get into a situation where the police are called, you could lose your permit if it's determined that you started an argument while carrying. Anyone with a permit should have the maturity to walk away before a situation escalates. Barring that, they should at least have the sense to not start a fight in the first place.

Obviously you've never had moose meatballs in spagetti sauce....
And if you think that you've have a good work out riding a bike, you should try getting 2000 pounds of moose a couple miles out of the wilderness to the nearest trail...can be quite challenging....

I had venison in New Zealand, does that count? If I had my way, we'd let cows go free, and eat buffalo. If you're going to eat meat, do it right.

Cows are tasty don't knock them. They are also to stupid to exist without us. Our fault entirely, but have you ever heard stories of ancient bulls? Those things would murder whole villages. I think we domesticated them to save ourselves. That and the tastiness.

I'm not arguing any ones right to carry a gun. I'm just thinking if you fell of your bike what are the chances of loosing that gun? Accidental misfiring? I'm all for guns. I just won't carry on my bike due to hazards it could impose.
