I ride in and around Fairfield, so its not too far from "home" for you. NH is great, easily one of my favorites (I grew up in SE Mass.)

Fairly new to this photography thing so the pic is not the greatest, but is along one of the routes I take 3-4 times a week.

Turkeys are tough to photograph. Without a long lens its a bear to get close enough to them. Their eyesight is good and though they are really dumb animals, they are at least smart enough to be wary. Its almost like they know you can't fix stupid and run from everything. Keep your camera with you and keep practicing.

Lets get out and ride so we can keep this thread alive...Xela had a great idea lets not waste it. It'll be like Thanksgiving, but every day!

...And I don't mean giving small pox blankets to the nice locals.

Well since the last time I have a 17, 23 , 10 mile ride I did the 10 on my Absolute 1.0 it is nice to see the differnce a 17# bike is when you ride a 27#er most of the time, but you feel every stone on the Absolute, aluminum frame carbon fork and 120# air. I like riding the 27# steel bike every day,

Thanks! I guess I should add another then.

This morning: Watching the big dog that chased me last time I was on that street just lay there and casually watch me go on by.

Lunch ride: having enough room to squeeze between the curb and the Toyota Sequoia that pulled out right in front of me.

1st day in 3 that I have been able to ride. New route with a new 1 ride mileage total was kool. The low light was when I just outran a beautiful if not threatening german shepard that was probably just looking for someone to play with, and then climbing the top of a short but steep hill only to see 3 nice size dogs, 2 of which were full grown boxers and a mongrel.

I stop at the top of the hill to assess the situation and one of the boxers spots me and starts toward me. As they are all moving toward me I begin pedaling down the hill which startles them for a few seconds allowing me time to gain momentum and zip past them without incident. There may not have been anything to worry about but I had no idea what was going to happen with any of those dogs. Gonna get a loud airhorn to carry with me soon, for just in case

Yesterday 4/21 I got in a 18 miler the wind was realy gusting and had me allmost stoped a cupple of times and that was the roads that run thrugh the woods. It is nice being out on the bike and I am verry lucky to be in a aera with nice roads that have little trafic, but summer comes and the trafic picks up to the shore along with the ones that have to get there yesterday, you know the guy who passes a car that is passing a car.
