Looking for a new rear derailer

My rear derailer doesnt seem to be functioning anymore the way I want it to. What im looking for is a nice smooth shifting derailer. What do you guys suggest?

i broke my old sram esp on a stump, so i went on ebay and got a sram x-5 for $40. works very well, and after shortening the chain, it shifts very smooth.

Shifting problems are not necessarily derailleur related. You may have a worn chain and/or cassette & chainrings. Also, make sure that you rear derailleur is properly aligned. That requires a special tool, but your LBS can check that out.
