More Comfortable Ride?

I ride an aluminum Cannondale with a Mavic Ksyrium wheelset. The bike is fast but really rough on the roads down here in Florida. Aside from buying a new frame/different wheelset, what would any of you suggest to make my ride more comfortable?

they make suspension stems to take the shock out of your wrists/shoulders, suspension seat posts for the butt-pains, and you can try larger tires at a lower pressure. Other than that, you'r looking at a carbon frame or fork to absorb some shock.

What you need is a good alchemist to turn that aluminium into steel!

Ron, what tire pressures are you running? Dropping the tire pressure can really smooth out the ride. See the posting here by Camilo with a good chart to use as a starting point for setting your tire pressure.

Also, not only switching the frame to steel or carbon, but switching your "connection" points can help. For example, putting a carbon seatpost can help dampen the vibration to your butt, and a carbon stem/handlebars can take some of the buzz out of your hands. But since these little suckers can get pretty pricey, I recommend seeing if you can "try before you buy" to see if they help significantly.

Some companies also make padding that goes under your bar tape to reduce the vibrations to the hands.
