Looks like a cool run. It's a shame I'm not in the midwest. What days are you involved Freemason Cyclist?

Just by riding as I normally do. I live in Sioux City, Iowa and have ridden tougher RAGBRAI's in the past. This years is the 3rd easiest in history. Most of my riding in commutting to/from work. By the time RAGBRAI comes it should be a breeze for me because I will not be hauling the weight I carry when I commute.

I mailed my RAGBRAI registration and money tonight. So now it is official, I am going. Guess it's time to start preparing. Let's see, where did I put that check list?

Ther excuse of living too far away is a piss poor cop out at best. RAGBRAI attracts people all from 50 states and several countries who live a lot further than you do. Come up with a better excuse than that. The "I live to far away is really weak."

Blazing Pedals has every right to say what he thinks because he has done RAGBRAI. Until you ride it you should not speak of things you know nothing about.

As I mentioned though you stupidly think it silly the terminology of the ride being the worlds oldest, longest, etc. has worked and worked well ever since it has been called that. They would not call such if it were not true. They could not because they could get in trouble for false advertising.
Can you feel my head spinning? You argue a lot like my wife: just pick a point you can "win" without paying attention to the issue at hand. Have fun!

Still waiting to hear why it's not just your favorite, but the unequivocal BEST to participate in. For that matter, why someone should have to ride it once before they're qualified to say they don't want to do it? Do you own a Rolls Royce? You know, you should buy one before you're qualified to tell us why you don't.

By best I also mean my favorite.

The reason why someone should ride it before they judge it is because it is like judging a book by it's cover or a movie by it's title.

The comparison of RAGBRAI to a Rolls Royce is comparing apples to oranges. The reason I don't own one is simple. Can't afford one. Oh and a person does not need to buy a car to decide whether or not they like it. A test drive will do that, or even renting one.

RAGBRAI is very affordable compared to other bike tours and as I already said people travel from all 50 states and several countries to participate in it.

They announced the pass through towns for RAGBRAI. As matter of clarification Leeds is not a seperate town. It is not even a town of it's own. It is a neighborhood in Sioux City. Leeds used to be it's own community for about 6 months in the late 1800's. Sioux City annexed it and over time changed street names, addresses and people can no longer send or receive mail to a Leeds address. It has to be Sioux City, IA and what ever the zip code is.

When RAGBRAI riders get to Leeds they are still in Sioux City. The first actual pass through town is Kingsley, Iowa.

Oh hell no! You all can keep it.

I have yet to even do a group ride, much less a crowd ride.
