Well just some free advise and its worth what you paid for it. Instead of putting a couple hundred in a $30 bike, put it in a savings jar to save up for a $300 ish bike and enjoy that $30 one as it is. You don't have to come up with all at once that way, you are not making payments, and when you do get the new bike it will be much better than trying to upgrade components.

Too easy are words that need never be uttered on a bicycle. Some bike racer once said, "It never gets easier. You just go faster." Easy and bike riding is like the government saving money. It just doesn't go together. Whatever you ride you will have plenty of effort to aid in your weight loss goals.

Then when you have your little nest egg saved, find the bike you want and keep the $30 special around for reintroducing you to something I think you are going to come to enjoy. Ride it once in a while so you remember how you got started and can appreciate the better bike even more.
