re: Riding difficulties as you get older

I tried something like that at the London cycle show the year before last. It was great fun but hugely expensive!

Mind you it was very sophisticated an actually gave you the sensation of riding on road with bumps and occasional roughness It certainly made it harder to pedal when the "Screen" showed you were heading up hill and similarly down hill runs were easier!

Can't remember what it was called. I'll have a search around and see if I can see who makes it.
It certainly was the sort of training device that a club might manage to afford but not an individual! Well not a poverty striken bloke like me!

Ah yes it was a TACX virtual reality thingy! I remember you could steer and "wobble" a bit but going round bends you stayed upright!

It was fun though but I'm no speedster! And I go out on the road every day anyway!

Ha! Well that's not exactly what I meant...

But hey, maybe I would like to live on the flip side of the coin maybe for a day or two.

re: Riding difficulties as you get older

Burr, I hear you brother. My issue is that I have lost seventy pounds since starting to ride so not working out at all while eating non stop on the ship was more than my brain could handle. With my job I get up early, so on the ship I was the first one up almost every day. I could work out and still be back in plenty of time to have coffee with the wife. I just got back from a second vacation, hunting in SD for five days where I actually LOST weight and did not work out at all. LOL

Griz, Yes they had one. Hated it. So boring it was like dating my sister. The elipictal or just jogging, sometimes both worked better for me.

I started by saying "I'm sorry"... I couldn't help myself... It's true. OK, I'll behave.
