After talking to the wife - we are trying a cassette change on my bike first - if it works then it is a cheaper option and we can then change hers out - if it doesn't work - then we have lost less $$ and we can change out to 10 speed

Rola - this thread started as a SRAM D-tap thread - hillD and a few others helped me narrow my decision to the APEX group set - among this pondering - now have the D-Tap installed and ready for virgin ride. I noted the expertise level was very high and asked about my other bike and dissatisfaction with my gearing (9 speed hybrid) - hillD & You & others offered me advice on the gearing which I now almost understand - I am going with the decision to try the 14-25 to spread out the gearing for my limestone trail flat bar hybrid bike instead of converting it to a 10 speed - the cheaper option - if it doesn't work I can upgrade next year to a 10 speed conversion kit

Sorry about the confusion - that is what happens when threads start to meander away from main topic

Test Ride with the new SRAM APEX components for 20 miles today - loved the D-Tap system - it is awesome for hills! The drivetrain also feels really solid - is the APEX group set more comparable to Tiagra or 105, or is that comparing apples to oranges ?

Are you asking in regards to price range or quality...or both?

I have read lots of good reviews on the Apex for it's wide ratios that make it a good choice to replace a triple.
