Raleigh has been changing/dropping the bikes that worked for me. They made the Revenios ugly for 2012 and keep moving more and more to IGH city bikes. People around here liked the 1x7 derailleur city bikes; primarily because they're cheaper. They also killed the Circa line, which was one of my favourites. There will be less Raleigh in my shop this year.

Jamis has some really cool stuff this year (but terrible margins for those who don't buy $30K +) so I'll be stocking more from them.

I'm picking up Volagi, and my first one will be here Monday.

I'll be stocking more Scotts this year, too.

The local educational toy store is going out of business, so I'll be carrying toys starting March 1. I'm also expanding the swim and run sections of the store.

Most importantly, I'll have an actual employee this summer, so I'll be taking a couple of days off per week.
Time off?! What's that?! I'll actually have to call ahead now (not that I didn't before). Just sayin'!

Just got our first Volagi in....

As shipped...

Shrinkwrap removed. Box looks to be better quality than some bikes I've ordered.

That's the most well-protected new bike I've ever seen...

Rear wheel.

Frameset.

Front wheel.

Foam and cardboard removed.

THAT'S why the shipping box is so cool.... you get a FREE travel box with the bike!

Mostly assembled.

I agree it's a gorgeous bike, I might change my mind when I see the price though (Ok I won't change my mind, I'll just cry a little) Do they have it in other color options, I think a white bike with a black or red pinstripe would look awesome!

This one is the Rival-equipped Liscio. MSRP is $2895. (My price is $2849.99)

The Ultegra model is black and red (more red) and sells for $3595.

The Dura Ace model is black and white and sells for $4495.

Like most higher-end bikes (but not custom), there is only one colour choice for each model.

Price is better than I expected. And in my case, good to be in the SRAM camp.

LBS here has one in that is Dura Ace. I honestly can not find anything wrong with this bike. It looks good, it rides good and the price point is pretty damn good also. This years cycling budget is already spoken for but I think next year I might spring for it! Good job Platy!

I love the lines on it.

I was reminded that it had been a while since I updated this thread when a TwoSpoke member stopped in the store today. In my defense, Little 5 season is starting now, so I've been pretty busy. Oh, and my truck broke in half. (Toyota Tacoma - there was a recall for the frames rusting through) Now I have to buy a new truck/van. Grrr....

Our local Education/Toy store closed up after 19 years and I bought some of their inventory and a lot of their displays. I'll have to fill in the previous updates (from that other site) later.

Got the cool barrel from the closed toy store.

A bunch of plexiglass displays came from there, too.

And this little rack I'm using for KMC chains.

...and this one for coffee/tea/hot chocolate stuff. (Walker's Shortbread...Mmmm....)

I buy magazines outright rather than have to send the covers back for credit. As such, I keep all of the unsold ones and try to get 50% of cover price for them. If they hang around long enough, I give them away. Oh, and the rack is - again - from Bright Futures (or not-so-bright futures, as the case may be, since they're closed.)

Sold the Apex group off of the TIME. Now I have 2 frames that will never, ever sell. Seriously. I've had these things on eBay at WHOLESALE for 4 months. I give up.

I started putting the K2 tri bike together. (I bought a K2 tri frame from a bicycle liquidation company, along with some other frames.)

Then I finished putting it together. SRAM Rival derailleurs, FSA crank, SRAM TT500 shifters, Dia Compe tri levers, Profile Airwing basebar, Profile T3 aerobars, Xero wheels, etc. It's purty. The flash washed out the bar tape...it's bright red.

That's all for now.
