Yes, quite sure these things are true at 18mph; now, allowing for the 'skinny tire fudge factor', I can say they are also largely true at 14mph, too!

I heard about that (regenerative braking on a bicycle using flywheel) on the radio, but hadn't see pictures before. He needs the cameraman on a bike to get a better view of this in action. Get the show on the road! In addition to a mobile camera, another rider alongside on a regular bike would help illustrate the difference and add visual interest.

Flywheels work because they're heavy. It might give a boost at the bottom of a climb, but you'll use the stored energy quickly and drag the weight up the rest of the way. Maybe a useful idea, with refinement, in stop and go traffic, level ground, for example most cities.
