Ya know, sometimes things jump out at you when you really aren't looking for anything and just can't be ignored..............like this for instance, $17.20 buy it now for some $150 cranks, new take off. Resistance was futile, and they are x-sync 2 chainring for 12 speed but banking on direct mount being same as for x-sync 1 chainring for my 11 speed. GX Eagle for the Stache 7.....Dangit, now it will be a shifter, cassette and chain away from being 1x12 if resistance remains futile.......

The last few, actually: Nashbar front rack and rear panniers, and the Discount Ramps trailer.

In that photo, I was checking out how bad it was with all my camping gear.

Not all that I'd use for a regular campout; *all* of it, except only the bulkiest sleeping bag, (right rear pannier - that bag is rated colder than it's been here in a couple years now, and I didn't see the point in carrying more than one, though there was room left in the trailer for my cool weather bag) and only about 4-5 days of food, and 1-3 days of water. (Water depends on weather; I've commuted here in everything from 17F to 114F.) Two stoves, (alcohol and wood) three cook kits, (one small, one big enough to cook full meals for two, and one regular aluminum Scout mess kit, all with their interior space packed with food and other gear.) chair, hammock, rain tarps, extra tarps...I just plain ran out of gear to pack before I ran out of room to pack it.

It was manageable. I wouldn't want to do a long tour with all that load, (and would almost certainly ride any distance with the extra water jugs empty, to be filled closer to camp) and it's way overkill for an overnighter, but for 2+ nights in one campsite somewhere within ~50 miles, I might carry that much. Even going lighter, I could see loading all the camping gear I need on the trailer so I can easily drop it at camp and go into town to shop/sightsee/whatever with just rain gear, basic spares and tools in the front panniers, and lots of pannier space to bring back groceries and whatnot.

At a guess, the full loadout there might leave just about the right amount of space for a 5-6" Newtonian telescope with a tripod that collapses small.
Darn...now I have to go check storage and see if all the parts of my Celestron made it through the multiple moves of the divorce intact; the ridge at mom's place is 10 miles south of home and pretty good for dark skies all but due north.

^ What he said.
We normally don't get each other anniversary gifts. But our anniversary falls on
World Toilet Day. And really isn't that more than a woman could ask for?

doesn't look like it. Went back to auction listing and didn't see any mention of any more available.
