I finally had some Fat Tire and I gotta say it was a bit of a disappointment. Not because it was a bad beer, but because I like a whole lot more hops! Fat Tire is just not my thing. Not to mention my first taste of Fat Tire was a 3.2 beer.

On the other hand, I did have some really great brew while I was in CO. Dale's Pale Ale and Gordon beer from Oskar Blues are a couple of my favorites. Both are also available back east. Another couple of brews that I really enjoyed are Mojo IPA (6.8% ABV/75 IBU's) and Hazed and Infused (4.85% ABV/70 IBU's), both from Boulder Beer. Plenty-o-hops in both. Hazed & Infused is dry hopped with about a ton and a half of Crystal & Centennials as well as Nugget & Willamette in the boil. Mojo is exclusively hopped with Amarillo's.

I'm not sure if the Boulder stuff is available around here, but I'm certainly gonna find out!

Don't forget to mention that Dale's Pale Ale comes in a CAN! Thus, killing the myth that great beer can't come from a can. Nice selection for those tailgating and sporting events where you can BYOB as long as it's in a can.

You every tried the Maharaja by Avery out in Boulder? Incredible Imperial IPA!

Breckenridge IPA lot 509. It is WOW!!! But be aware it is strong, like 11 1/2 percent.
I like Sam Addams for a good hoppy drinking beer.

The Breck might be a local thing though...

You have to go up in order to come down. Why is the up part always so steep?

Yes indeed, cans are good! I'm pretty sure that I've already ranted about how I love good canned beer including Dale's. I didn't want anyone to think I was spamming for Oskar Blues.

I went to Breck, but they didn't have any IPA's on tap.
I'll have to try to find some next time I'm out there.

I LOVE hazed and infused, it tastes almost identical to the first IPA I ever brewed! If you can find it you should grab a Hercules double IPA, that stuff puts hair on your chest.

I like fat tire if I'm in the right mood, but most of the time it's too light for my tastes. By far my favorite New Belgium brew is La Folie, I can't remember if it's a Flanders red or an oud bruin but it is yummy if you're a fan of belgian sour ales.

Poison for the night is Schlafly extra stout. a nice and thick dry Irish stout that's 8% abv Hopefully I can manage to cellar a couple bottles long enough to have a couple left next st paddys day but that is looking less likely ever day.

Garmin says I burned 2500 calories on my after work ride tonight. Here's my replacement plan. Great IPAs can come from the central U.S. too!

Double wide eh? Just watch out for tornados!

I did about a 10 mile singlespeed mtn bike ride tonight followed by DFH 75 minute IPA"s and a rare ahi salad. I have no idea how many calories I burned, but I'm sure it wasn't enough. I really need to go on a diet.
