The Official "Share a Recipe" Thread

Just like the title says- Share a recipe. It could be a family recipe handed down for generations or just a really great recipe you found on the back of a box for some food product.

I'll start:

Recipe: Michigan Sauce

Dish type: Main Course

Feeds: 4-6 (maybe more)

Prep Time: 5 Minutes

Cooking Time: 4-5 Hours

Primary Ingredients:
• 16oz Tomato Sauce
• 2lb Hamburger
• 3/4 Tsp. Garlic Powder
• 3 Tbsp. Chili Powder
• 2 Tsp. Cumin
• 1/4 bottle of hot sauce (Franks, Texas Pete, etc.)
• 4 Tbsp. Dried Onion
• 2 Tsp. black Pepper

Also Required:
○ Hot Dogs
○ Hot Dog Buns

Instructions:
◘ Combine all primary ingredients in a crock pot.
◘ Cook on high for about 30 minutes stirring frequently.
◘ Simmer on low for 2-5 hours stirring frequently.
◘ Serve hot spooned over hot dogs.
◘ Store extra sauce in refrigerator or freeze for longer storage.

Recipe: Carl's Junior
Dish Type: Main Course
Feeds: Me
Prep Time: Not fast enough
Primary Ingredients: Don't know they wouldn't tell me. Sneaking suspicion they didn't speak English.
Also Required: Car and middle school Spanish lessons.(passing Helpful, not required)
Instructions: Drive up order. Not understand what was being said. Pull up to first window not knowing what you've now ordered. Pay indeterminable sum of money for product your not sure on. Get home realize they understood you but forgot your fries. Wife yells at you for not checking because they never get it right anywhere. Drive back to Carl's junior w/ receipt. Explain in Spanglish how you no recievy the papas fritas. Waste time and money for something you could have made at home if it weren't for the fact that the wife really likes their fries. Tell her you can have mine, she complains you paid for them, you should get them. Spend one hour crying in the park before you go home complaining about the line you got stuck in.

I ate at Carl's Junior today.
It was soso.

This is a delicious recipe that is my current favorite. I did consider killing those who I have told, but then my generous nature overcame my temporary insanity.

Crockpot French Dip
3-4 lb. rump roast
1 packet dried Au Jus
1 packet Italian Dressing
1 can beef broth
2 t. Worchestershire sauce
1 t. garlic salt
1 1/2 c. dry red wine

Cook low for 10-12 hours, serve with the juice on deli rolls. I like to put swiss cheese and sauteed onions on mine. DELICIOUS!!!

Here is a serious junk food recipe that goes way back in my family.

Potato candy

Boil a potato until it's like a baked potato.

Peel the skin off.

Mix it with powdered sugar until it's the same consistency as a cookie dough.

Roll it out as thin as you can, but hurry up, it tends to dry fairly fast.

Spread peanut butter on it, and perhaps other things if you want, like chocolate or cinnamon.

Roll it back up like you're rolling up a big piece of paper.

Then slice it into little cookie shape pieces.

Maybe it's no wonder diabetes is so common in my family?
