Would that these were pics from a ride of mine, but alas not yet. Arches National Park. The ascent just to get into the main park looks like this, from a couple switchbacks down:

Better, the park's roads are being re-paved throughout in a 7pm-7am operation. One thing this means is large amounts of loose gravel on the pavement. Yes, especially on the steep grades and tight curves.

There were a surprising number of cyclists on the road despite the gravel and traffic, but it's always a thrill to see touring bikes in their natural environment. Here we have the MTB with trailer take. Note the white children's replacement tire, likely from a big box store with the initials WM . Note the full-sized spare tire. Judging by the logs I've read, most touring cyclists don't bring spare trailer tires and end up playing catch as catch can when they have a problem and manage to find a store.

A more traditional touring rig. Note the twin spares. Going for distance?

I didn't take it but I am told this is how she sits anytime I leave and even treats won't get her nose off the window until she sees me ride up the street.

It just means she has found her human, and you have been honored
