Scored a couple of nice items today while up in Richmond. Moma bought me a new stand for the MTB and a new pair of Shimano MTB shoes. Caught them on sale. Then I stumbled upon a Camelbak Mule also on sale...she made me pay for that one Found it at REI on sale for 70 bux, not bad!

First off, Nice gear, I bet you can't wait to put it to the test. And congrats on 28 years! sounds like you two got a good thing goin there. Especially if she puts up with, and even encourages all of the riding stuff.

What if we got some new gear, but didn't have to purchase it?

Running a website about outdoor gear has certain perks. Here are a few products incorporating some really cool technology or design features, plus a knife handmade in Norway. I've got a ton of stuff to write about, but don't want to give the rest away. You'll have to read the articles/reviews.

Oh my! Let me know how the Esbit stove works for you. I love alcohol stoves. I have a Trangia that has done many miles on the trail. My Svea 123 is my most cherished piece of gear though.

Nigal, that is the newest Esbit, with the heating ring licensed from Jetboil. I think I was the 2nd person to get one.

JJ, those are the new Declination light trail shoes from Rocky S2V. They should be available next month.
