guys, its just hair. it grows back. Bodybuilders have been shaving their whole bodies since the 70's... maybe before.
I use electric clippers, not a razor cause you can ingrown hairs which can be a pain in the ... where ever you get them.

Thought this would be a good thread to put up my first post - I shave them, part vanity, part ritual of race prep, it feels good, it looks good...my wife thinks it's weird, ok I'll give that to her.
Shave on! (but shave carefully)

I broke down and started shaving. And I like it. 90% vanity (just being honest) but I have found that my legs are cooler in the humid weather and it feels good. I agree with "M", its only hair.

I'm still tempted by the idea of silky smooth legs, I just can't rationalize the razor expense.

If I'd shave my legs, it sure as heck would not be to improve my cycling performance (because it does not) or make it easier to dress a wound (perhaps yes it does). It would be for pure vanity, which is the answer any honest cyclist would tell you if his ego would allow him to be forthright. I see leg shavers as mostly poseurs. If you're not getting paid to look the part, and you wouldn't do it otherwise, then why do it!!!
Poseur's, all you leg shavers!

Shaving seems like a complete waste of time to me. I suppose if I were already accustomed to a lot of primping, I might not see it that way.

Easy man....I openly admit that I shave my legs for vanity purposes, but I have also had to clean severe road rash when I had hair, and it was painful as hell. What I don't do is run around condemning people that don't shave. I don't recommend it to anyone or suggest it to anyone unless they ask me first.

I have heard the road rash pitch many times and I think it is dubious at best. Leg hair has never made cleaning road rash any more difficult or painful in my experience on both sides of the scrub brush. I often wonder if this is an attempt to lend legitimacy to what most people would otherwise consider odd, deviant, or embarassing behavior for a man. In other words, if I shaved, this is what I would tell my non-cyclist male friends if they happened to notice because they would think me a cross-dressing wierdo if I said I just like the look of shaved legs on men.
I see nothing wrong with shaving because you like the look or feel. We all do a lot of other things for that reason.

If my beard isn't causing drag, I fail to see the leg hair doing it. I don't shave for vanity reasons. I don't like the look. I've cleaned road rash with leg hair, it hurts, a lot.
