Thanks for adding a woman's perspective Smiley!! I don't think you are alone with that opinion either. Sometimes I catch women looking or should I say gawking.

The thing about massage is of course the main reason why pros shave but one that I forgot to mention.
For guys who haven't done it before it takes some practice and your skin and hair need to get trained for it. Use a high quality razor, not a disposable el cheapo. Get yourself hot and softened up in a hot shower or bath. Get rid of the bulk by shaving with the grain. Lather up again and shave against the grain. Avoid strong chemicals and lotions afterward as this may cause irritation. Don't use muscle linament with menthol or camphor for several hours after shaving. Before your skin gets used to it you might get red dots but this gets better with time. Once you are in the routine you only need to shave against the grain and it only takes a few minutes. I don't use shaving cream or gel. There is a product here in Sweden but is probably available there as well, Nivea shower oil. It works great to lubricate the razor and doesn't dry out your skin.
Happy riding!
