numb hands simple solution. maybe

The thing I would recommend is try tilting the front of saddle up by just a smidgen . This may help take a bit of the load off your hands. you don't need to do it a lot to make a big difference. Work with just a few millimeters. But only if your saddle height is correct to begin with, this is a trick I have used in the past to help out some customers I had a before that had a similar problems.

I don't know if you have drop bars or flat ones but I would also consider modifying a riding glove to fit that hand. I ride most of the time with full finger mountain bike gloves even during hot days. I like having that extra bit padding and When you crash(and you will) Its nice to leave cow hide on the pavement instead of your skin.

rode a little over 20 miles today and my hands started getting numb about 2/3 of the way through. I've already got gloves w/gel padding. I have only been riding roadbikes for about a month now so maybe with more time in the saddle I'll start to get use to the riding position on my bike.

try tipping the saddle up just a bit first. with more hand positions on a road bike you should not have this problem. Question: did you have this problem before? Is riding something new or have you been riding something else?

I think he should adjust his seat. Maybe tip the nose up a bit.

No I have not tried tipping the seat up, but will give it a try. Yes I am new to road bikes, I've only been riding for a month, also I ride a Trek 7.1FX as a daily commuter; I ride the Trek 2.3 for fun and exercise.

We're just teasing, so don't take anyone too seriously. But try adjusting that seat a bit.

chaco, the thought is getting some of the stability off of your hands and adding it to a lower center if I'm correct. Are you having any back pain?
