Ya were going to dig up an old set of cups or buy a new set. I was about to buy a raceface headset but my pal told me to hang on and wait he might have another set we can use.

When I crash my bike, I get up and do it again. I don't worry about parts failing.
Exercise and the proper diet can also contribute to loss of weight too!

That's a beautiful MTB ya got there...

You should be very proud!

PS.

Nice forks can be found on the Unversal Cycles website:
www.universalcycles.com/shopping/index.php?category=701

I think that the best 29er MTB deals are with Bikesdirect:
www.bikesdirect.com/products/mountain_bikes.htm

Good Luck!

Basically between a 26" and a 29er. I believe it's a 27.5 inch wheel and tire set. They are becoming kind of popular.

I prefer to sit a bit behind the curve. Now that the 29er is no longer a funky MTB wheel size, I have more than one. The only thing about the 10 speed MTB craze I like is that 9 speed has gotten dirt cheap.

I'd be content with XT 8 speed.

This bike is an 8speed now since I got some wheels that can hold all 8 chainrings.

Oh and incase your wondering here's what my bike would look like as a 650b.

Nice. That fork is the one I was going to use on my custom frame. But I traded it (ouch!) for a Rockshox to upgrade my 29 instead.

Welp I was having some issues with my headset being tight and the bearing not riding the crown race real well. Took my shock in to have the CR removed and they informed me that the fork was old. (DUH!) 2000 and it was shot! So i'm on the lookout for a new fork. Looking at the Rock Shox XC 32 TK.

Unless anyone else has some good suggestions for a good entry level fork.

I also picked up a cheap headset for $29.99
