New Bike and Pedal Wrench

Last week I bought a new mountain bike. Upgraded from my Fuji Odessa to a Trek 6500. Just one catch, the bike didn't come with pedals.

I'm going to take the pedals off my Fuji but don't have a wrench that fits and can't find anything definitive about what size pedal wrench I should buy. What size wrench is most commonly used with mountain bike pedals?

In the near future I'm going to buy a shoe/pedal combination to help on the trails. What shoes/pedals do you ride with?

15mm. Be aware the threads on left pedals are counterclockwise.

I have Crank Brothers Candy pedals on my MTB. I come out of them too easily. OK for the money I guess but I prefer Time Atac pedals.

15mm is the correct answer, but a flat 15mm, so you don't scratch your cranks. Also, if it's not forged, it will probably strip.

Thanks for the advice.

@qmsdc15 REI has a set of candy pedals for $50, I think I'll mosey on down there and spend my christmas bonus this weekend.
