New to fat bikes

I have recently purchased a fat bike, Surly Neck Romancer Pug. I'm still waiting for delivery. Anyone comments about the bike, both good and bad.

Rode one around in the parking lot last year at the Southeast bike expo and thought it was a very cool.

Last month was down in northern Florida for a 50 mile event that included a lot a deep sand. The guys on the fat tire bikes just floated over the sand like it was nothing while the rest of looked (and felt) like we were riding through quick sand.

It's not a bike that I would want to ride on my local trails (it's just not a good fit), but for the right environment it will be a blast.

Never ridden one but I think if I lived up North it might be my winter bike for the snow

Fat bike, carbon HT 29er and/or FS 29er are on my short list of next bikes. Been lovin the **** out of some of the fat bike threads I've seen around the net. There is one on MTBR that is over 100 pages and has some crazy cool bikes and scenery.......Here are some samples

Me too. Dig that internal geared hub for the adverse conditions these bikes are good for.

There is one guy from Alaska in that thread on the other forum where he's just riding across open Tundra and stuff without any semblance of a trail. True XC in it's purest form.

Bravo, NJ! I've loved fat-bikes from the first time I saw one. I hope yours is wonderful and brings much fun and fitness into your life. I'd love pics once you get it!
