Bars and brakes arrived today. Threw the bars, levers, and shifters on it to see how they look, and it needs silver shifters instead of black. I'll try to get some photos soon. Hoping the fork arrives tomorrow.
All I have is some sad teaser photos. The fork still has not arrived, and neither did the cables. So here is the rear brake, with no cable, and the bars, still without the correct shifters and clamped into a stem I may or may not use. The stem is just funky enough to go with the frame tubing. I included a close up of that as well.
Well, the fork finally arrived. I only had time to throw it on, along with the brakes, for a quick mock-up. I'll need to pick up my cables, if they're in, and finish assembly so I can cut the steerer down. And I was way off on my estimate - unless I want to go with some much lighter tires (tubeless is an option with the Mavic rims), it's going to tip the scales at around 24 pounds. I can't really complain though, as I've got less than $400 into it so far, making for a fine all-surface, all-weather commuter.
